March 15th, 2021 Mayor Extends Mask Ordinance

The Mayor has once again extended the mask ordinance, hopefully for the last time as COVID Cases statewide are going down, we have however seen a spike recently here in Greer County.  We want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during these trying times,  we have endured a lot and we ask that we continue to endure a little bit more.  The following are the major changes to the new Declaration:

  • Public gatherings are now permitted on City owned grounds and facilities, at the discretion of the City Board of Commissioners.  Those who wish to use a city facility must request to be put on the next possible City Board Meeting Agenda for such approval.
  • City utility billing will return to normal as of April 30th, 2021.  City utility bills will once again accrue late charges, and cut-offs for non-payment will return to normal.  There will not be late charges accrued for the time period covered by this Declaration of Emergency.  The City Manager and City Clerk are directed to assist customers in making arrangements on their payments and are authorized to extend payments up to one year for the most extreme of cases.
  •  Long term Care facilities are to follow the State Governor's Executive Order regarding the visitation of residents.
  • Mask Wear Mandate is extended to April 30th, 2021
