Library Catalog FAQ

  • Click Online Catalog at the right of the Margaret Carder Library webpage.

    Click the Log on button on the top right corner of the Catalog page

    Your Username is your library card number. Your initial Password will be your last name (capital first letter). You can change your password after logging in.

    Once you’re logged in, you will start on your My Items page under the Reserves tab.

    You can always return to your My Items page by clicking to My Items button in the top right of every page.

  • Basic searches can be performed using the Search Bar in the top left. More advanced searches can be performed using the search tab.

  • Click on the Title of the item you want to reserve

    Click the Reserve button at the right of the popup window

    Items you have reserved will be listed on your My Items page under the Reserves tab. The library will receive a notification of your reservation. If your requested item is currently available the library staff will pull them from the shelves and prepare them for check out. If your requested items are not currently available, you will be notified as soon as they become available. Please keep in mind that it may take some time for us to receive the notification and prepare your items.

    When your items are ready to be picked up you will receive an email or text message depending on your setting for preferred contact method as set on your Account tab (see below). They will also be shown as waiting for pickup on your My Items page under the Reserves tab

    For curbside pickup call the library at (580) 782-3185 when you arrive and a staff member will check out our items and bring them to your vehicle momentarily.

  • You can see the items you have checked out as well their due dates and the current fines for overdue items on your My Items page under the Items Out tab.

    You can renew your item online up to 2 times by clicking the checkbox next to the titles and then clicking the Renew button.

  • You can check your current fines on the My Items page under the Fines tab. Fines cannot be paid online, they must be paid in person at the library in cash payments. If your fines equal $1.00 or more, you will lose access to library services until your fines are under $1.00. Please note, fines only appear on this tab after the items are checked in. For overdue fines on items currently checked out see the Items Out tab.

  • On your My Items page under the Account tab you can change your password or update your contact information, and set your preferences for automated messages from the library. Note that the Text Message Address is automatically generated based off your Mobile Phone field and your Mobile Phone Carrier field, so it is not necessary to enter this manually.

    Be sure to click the Save button after changing any information on this page.

  • On your My Items page under the History tab you can see all your checkouts for the past year. To load your history click the Retrieve button.

  • On your My Items page under the Interests tab you can create a lists of items.

    Under My Bookbags you can manually add items to a list by clicking the Create button.

    Type in a name for your Bookbag and click the Save button.

    Make sure to make a Bookbag Active before adding items to it.

    When searching for items, simply click the green plus sign [+] in the top right of each item.

    You can then view or edit your Bookbag by clicking on its name on the Interests tab.

    You can also create automatically generated lists of items in the Watch List section of the Interests tab.

    Choose the type of Watch List you would like to create from the drop down menu (Author, Series Title, Subject)

    Enter the appropriate terms and click the save button.

    Now, if you click on the Term in your Watch Lists, you will be taken to a list of all the items that match that term.

  • If there is an item that we don’t carry, you can suggest we purchase a copy by clicking the Suggest button in the top right corner of every page.

    The more information you can enter, the easier it will be for library staff to find the item you are requesting.
