ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Weighs vehicles as they come into the recycling center and figures the charge if the customer does not have a utility bill for the first 1,000 pounds.
2.Operates or oversee the compactor for cardboard and plastic.
3.Ties the bales of cardboard and plastic as needed.
4.Established priorities regarding work related duties.
5.Follows departmental policies and safety practices and regulatory requirements.
6.Must be able to operate Backhoe and Front end loader and be able to demonstrate such to work crew.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Extensive standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, climbing and crouching is required. Individual must lift and carry equipment and discard objects. Manual dexterity is needed to work with hands in operation of equipment. Must be able to talk and hear to communicate effectively with the public in person or on the telephone. Near visual acuity, finger dexterity and above average hand-eye coordination is needed to accurately operate machinery, hand and power tools, etc.
